07 Dec 2024 – Harry Potter WB Studio Tour
=====================================================================
Trip Details
Our small group day trip from London begins with the short journey to the very studio used to create the Harry Potter films. We can see the actual sets and props and tour the huge buildings used to bring the boy wizard to the big screen. Enter Hogwarts Great Hall and walk past the wooden tables down to the sorting hat. Sit in the Weasley's flying car and peer into Hagrid's hut. Stroll along the spectacular Diagon Alley and visit the Gryffindor Common Room. Out in the backlot you can see the Dursley house in Privet Drive and Harry's parents’ house at Godric's Hollow and then marvel at the Knight bus! Visit Hogsmeade station and climb aboard the Hogwarts Express. Learn about prosthetics and model making and film yourself riding a broomstick. Take a journey through the Forbidden Forest if you dare!
A recent addition to the Warner Bros Studio Tour for fans of Harry Potter is the Gringotts Wizarding Bank! The biggest expansion to the Warner Bros Studio Tour to date, the exhibit is lined by marble pillars, sparkling chandeliers, and props and costumes belonging to the Goblin bankers, like Bogrod and Griphook. Discover the vault of Bellatrix Lestrange, in the vault you’ll see the Sword of Gryffindor, piles of golden Galleons, silver Sickles, bronze Knuts and Helga Hufflepuff’s cup. You’ll also have the chance for a unique photo opportunity, surrounded by heaps of treasure, but be warned, the dragon is approaching!
Early afternoon we make our way to Oxford, to visit the historic town and its famous University founded in 1167. Its connections to the world of literature are wide and varied. Alice in Wonderland, The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia to name but three. Authors, poets, actors, inventors and statesmen have called Oxford their home. We take an eye opening historic walking tour of Oxford's ivy clad colleges and beautiful university buildings followed by some free time. We recommend wearing sensible footwear for the guided walking tour due to uneven walking surfaces in Oxford in order to prevent slips, trips and falls.
After your visit to Oxford, our Harry Potter day trip ends and coach will return to ISH.
